  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 frankfurters
  • 4 tablespoons mustard or ketchup (or a mixture of both)
  • Large sweet and sour gherkins (cut into thin slices)
  • 30g crispy fried onions
  • Melted butter or olive oil for brushing on breads

Recipe

Step 1

Cook sausages for 5 minutes in a pan of boiling water. Set aside.

Step 2

Slice hot dog buns in half, but do not cut all the way through. Spread inside with mustard or ketchup, or both, to taste.

Step 3

Add a sausage to each loaf.

Step 4

Place pickle slices on top. Ketchup or mustard and add fried onions to each hot dog.
