Pyrex® Food Storage Containers

Whether you’re storing leftovers in the fridge, packing lunch for work, or bringing a homemade dish to a dinner, food storage containers are essential items to keep in your kitchen.

Why Use Food Storage Containers Every Day?

Having food storage containers at home is incredibly practical because they serve multiple purposes. Compact and easy to store, they allow you to keep and transport food safely, protecting it from air and bacteria. Glass or plastic containers are also more eco-friendly (especially with lids) since they reduce the need for single-use cling film or aluminum foil.

Which Food Storage Container Should You Choose?

You’ve probably noticed in supermarkets or kitchenware stores that there are countless types of food storage containers. Let us help you choose the ones that best suit your needs.

Containers for Storing Food

Whether you like to meal prep or simply want to store leftovers easily, food storage containers are ideal. At Pyrex®, we offer arange of containersdesigned to save space in your fridge or freezer while keeping your food fresh. Their perfectly fitted lids lock in flavor and freshness.

Containers for Lunch Boxes

Perfect for taking a homemade meal to work or school, ourglass lunch boxesare medium-sized containers designed for single servings. Pyrex® offers microwave-safe and even leak-proof options, ideal for soups and saucy dishes.

Containers for Transporting Meals

Love bringing food to gatherings or packing lunch for later? Ourtake-away containersare just what you need. Available in rectangular, square, or round shapes, they are airtight and resistant to extreme temperatures, so they can go from freezer to oven* without any problem.

*Please note: Pyrex® container lids are plastic and not oven-safe.

Containers for Reheating

Instead of using plastic containers that stain easily or reheating food plate by plate, choose one of ourmicrowave safe containers. These glass containers are microwave-, oven*, freezer-, and dishwasher-safe thanks to Pyrex® borosilicate glass. Steam valves on the lids make them perfect for microwave cooking.

Glass Food Storage Containers

Glass containersare the ideal solution for storing food to eat later or to cook and reheat. Thanks to Pyrex® borosilicate glass, they withstand extreme temperatures (from freezer to oven) and thermal shocks up to 220°C. This makes them perfect for everyday use. Unlike ordinary glass containers, Pyrex® containers offer unique durability and versatility.

Bonus: Pyrex® glass containers are multifunctional: you can cook, store, reheat, and serve all in one dish, saving you time every day.

What Size Should You Choose?

Pyrex® containers come in 3 or 4 different sizes so you can pick the perfect one for your needs. Ideally, keep several containers of each size to store and reheat everything from single portions to family meals.

What Shape Should You Choose?

Containers can be round, rectangular, or square. While shape doesn’t affect taste or quality, we recommend choosing containers that are easy to stack in your fridge or freezer. If space is limited, opt for square or rectangular containers.

Which Material Is Best?

At Pyrex®, we focus exclusively on borosilicate glass containers because of their many advantages. However, you’ll also find plastic and metal containers on the market.

Glass Containers

Pyrex® borosilicate glass is extremely durable, resistant to shocks, temperature changes, and dishwasher cycles. It’s easy to clean and doesn’t retain stains or odors.

Plastic Containers

Plastic containers are inexpensive but less durable. They warp, stain, and retain odors after a few uses, and they’re not suitable for ovens and sometimes not for microwaves.

Metal Containers

Less common, metal containers aren’t microwave-safe and don’t always handle freezer or dishwasher use well. They scratch easily, may oxidize, and can give food an unpleasant metallic taste.

How to Know if a Container Is Airtight?

A container is airtight if its lid closes completely, preventing air from entering or escaping. Most airtight lids are plastic or have a flexible plastic seal. To check if a Pyrex® glass container is airtight, simply refer to the product details on our website.
